Gustav Elijah Ahr, also known professionally as Lil Peep, was an American rapper, singer, songwriter and model. Born in Alleytown, Pennsylvania and raised on Long Island, New York. He was a child whose parents were Harvard graduates, however they were divorced when Gus was a teenager. Information from close friend and ex- girlfriend Emma tells us that because of his parents’ divorce, Gus turned into a whole different person, such as skipping his classes, hanging around with different people etc. Gus from a young age was self medicating by smoking pot, taking Xanax and other drugs which is foreshadowing later on his soon demise. He would be getting tattoos and in a way trying to be different than others because he never wanted to have a normal life and get a normal job. He started getting interested in music and would always practise his by making songs most of the time and starting to become an independent artist, his mother even said in his documentary called ‘Everybody’s Everything’ that he was working and could hear him sing while she slept.

The first group he joined was called Schemaboys and after doing his first ever show, Peep found confidence that he can actually do this job and become an artist. Soon after, under unknown reasons, Peep decided to leave the group saying this wasn’t for him and later on the rest of the group decided to leave as well therefore bringing the end of Schemaboys as a whole. Later on, Peep met Lil Tracy, starting a very strong friendship, it is being said that not even a week of knowing each other, they made the song called ‘White Tee’. Lil Tracy was already in an emo rap group called ‘Gothboiclique’, a group that Lil Peep would later on join and the rest was history.

After his career would go upwards and Lil Peep was being rising as a young artist, Lil Peep would sign into a label, which would help him a lot with tours, with his manager etc. Peep was trying to bring ‘Gothboiclique’ in the rise with him giving the group exposure as much as possible. When he went to Russia, he sold out shows without any help from radio, advertisements etc. This would show that he was becoming much more than a rising artist, he was a STAR. Sometime later on, Peep would move out from LA to London and wrote his first ever studio album ‘Come Over When You’re Sober Pt 1’ and sometime after would start his tour around America. The stress, the pressure, the anxiety was all overwhelming and too much on him, he was just a young boy with so much going on around him at the end of the day. On November 15 2017, Lil Peep passed away after an accidental Xanax lanced with Fentanyl overdose at the age of 21. he was pronounced dead outside the venue called ‘The Rock’ where the fans mourned his death even to this day. Now days this legend is known as the King of Emo rap.
